As far back as I can remember art has always played a major role in my life. When I was a child I enjoyed sketching anything on paper. As I grew older in age, so did my love for art. I can remember spending many hours painting, sculpting, and experimenting with other art forms.
Somewhere around the age of 13, I became interested in photography. On my 14th birthday I was given the gift of a life time. That gift was a 35mm manual camera. At that time I had no idea how influential that camera would be in my life. My interest with photography soon exploded into a full time passion of creating images. Within no time I had acquired a multitude of old books, cameras, lenses, and lighting gear. By the age of 16 I had converted my bedroom into a dark room. I was developing film and printed images like crazy. I started my own business at the age of 17 and began working directly for my school.
I have always strived to be a little different than the average person. I say different, mostly, because I have never wanted to fall into the routine of normal living. I enjoy living and thinking outside the box. This plays a large role in shaping my own style as a photographer. I have spent a lot of hours studying many different artists. I spend most of the time dissecting art into pieces, deciding what I do and don’t like. I admire many other photographers. However, I work hard to keep my images unique and true to my own style. My style is something that is truly alive, constantly growing, and always improving. I never want to let my art fall into a mundane cycle, constantly repeating it self.
